The accelerated digitalization of enterprise activities has increased the demand on the secure, transparent, and resilient information systems. Although traditional enterprise systems are successful in automating business processes, increased challenges associated with data security, trust, interoperability, and systemic resilience have been experienced. The blockchain technology has turned out to be a disruptive innovation that can help in solving these issues by creating decentralized, mutable, and transparent systems of managing the data and processing the transactions. This is a review article that focuses on the adoption of blockchain technology in enterprise systems and the ways it can be used to improve secure operations, economic resilience, and transform the industry. The paper summarizes the current studies on blockchain-based enterprise architecture, applications in major sectors, advantages and disadvantages, governance and regulatory implications, and the trends in technology. This review offers a complete insight into how blockchain-implemented enterprise systems are transforming organizational operations and leading to sustainable digital transformation through critical analysis of current developments.
